Russia to Become World’s Fifth-Largest LNG Producer
Russia will enter the TOP 5 list of the world’s leading LNG producers after the full-scale launch of Yamal LNG. This was stated by Leonid Mekhelson, Head of NOVATEK, during a meeting of Russian and Chinese leaders. At the moment, commissioning works are being carried out on the first line. According to NOVATEK management, production is planned to start at the end of this very year.
Evropeiskaya Elektrotechnica Engineering Center has taken an active part in this large-scale project over the last 2 years. The company has been carrying out integrated supplies for the needs of facility construction since 2015, including cable support systems, cables, lighting and electric switchboard equipment, etc. By now, Evropeiskaya Elektrotechnica has loaded more than 200 vans and containers with tens of thousands of various products needed for Yamal LNG project implementation.
Yamal LNG is a Russian gas extracting company established to carry out the development of the South-Tambeyskoye gas field, which includes construction of liquefaction plants with capacity around 16.5 million tons a year. Transportation infrastructure is being developed as part of the project, such as a seaport and airport in Sabetta. The volume of investment in Yamal LNG is estimated at USD 27 billion.
