Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica has successfully completed the delivery of an electric heating cabling system for the Power of Siberia
November 21, 2018. Moscow – PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica (hereinafter the Company), a leader on the Russian engineering market, has successfully completed the delivery of an electric heating cabling system (electric heat cable and control system) to the facilities of the Power of Siberia main gas pipeline, the construction of which will be finished by PJSC Gazprom.
The gas pipeline route passes through regions of the Russian Federation with severe climatic conditions, mainly in sparsely populated areas. In this project, the heating cable is widely used for year-round maintenance of design temperature modes of linear pumping unit operation of the main gas pipeline.
The implementation of the electric heating system is guaranteed to ensure operation in a specified temperature mode, which will be maintained taking into account ambient temperature, for critical elements of the gas pipeline process equipment and its automation systems.
The volume of this contract amounts to about RUB 150 million.
Ilya Kalenkov, General Director of PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica, commented on this event: “Participation in this nationwide project has confirmed our Group of Companies' ability to provide large customers with timely deliveries of electrical products. The logistics of product delivery was quite complicated, as a significant part of the route of this gas pipeline lies in an area with poorly developed transport infrastructure and a challenging terrain.
This project is one of the largest in Russia in terms of implementing special industrial electric heating cable. Our team has gained new invaluable experience in organizing deliveries with very complicated logistics requirements, as well as in managing a large multi-site project.”
REFERENCE:
Power of Siberia is the largest gas transportation system in the East of Russia. It is one of the largest projects in the history of modern Russia's economic development. Power of Siberia is a pipeline under construction for gas delivery from Irkutsk and Yakutsk gas production centers to Russian consumers (Primorsky Krai) and to countries in the Pacific Rim (China, the so-called “eastern” route). It is a joint project between Gazprom and CNPC (China).
The total capacity is 61 billion cubic meters of gas per year, of which 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be transported for export.
The construction cost of the gas pipeline is estimated at RUB 1.1 trillion. The start of gas delivery to China via Power of Siberia is planned for 2019.
The gas pipeline measures about 3,000 km in length, and the pipe diameter is 1,420 mm. The route of the gas pipeline passes through the territories of three Russian federal subjects: Irkutsk Oblast, Sakha Republic and Amur Oblast.
The gas pipeline will become a powerful stimulus for economic development not only in the Far East but also in the Asian part of the Russian Federation as a whole; this is due to both growth in direct revenue and the creation of jobs for gas production and transportation plants, as well as due to an increase in the level of gasification of populated areas and, as a result, opportunities for launching new production facilities.
The result of the gas pipeline launch will be several significant new opportunities for the country's economy. Russia will be able to start gasification of the Amur Oblast for the first time. Gazprom was able to start construction of the largest Amur gas processing plant in our country. The Sibur’s gas processing plant is also being built. The city of Svobodny also gets a chance for economic “reset”.
