Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica provided the lighting for Auchan (France), Europe's largest logistics retailer
July 8, 2019. Moscow – PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica (hereinafter — the "Company" or the "Group"), one of the leaders on the Russian engineering market, was the successful provider of lighting engineering design services and delivered lighting systems for the construction of Europe's largest Center for National Logistics (hereinafter — "CNL") for the French retailer Auchan.
During this project, the Company worked with the project general contractor, Radius Group.
Within the project, Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica provided:
-
lighting engineering of electric lighting systems,
-
delivery of equipment to set up outdoor and indoor lighting for:
- the complex site, including vast parking lots for heavy trucks,
- the bypass road around the complex and the roads within the facility site.
Our Company has delivered:
-
lighting supports from 8 to 18 meters high, including supports with a mobile headframe,
-
LED lights and spotlights with power up to 600 W,
-
Esylux (Germany) motion (presence) sensors, installed inside the building in the lighting control system.
Ilya Kalenkov, General Director of PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica, commented on this event: "The successful completion of such a large project has become a new page in our long-term fruitful cooperation with Auchan, one of the world's largest retailers. The project has also become yet another joint success with our long standing partner, Radius Group. We have been collaborating since 2008.
In fact, about 3/4 of the entire CNL territory was illuminated by the solution we developed. A range of our competencies was in demand in the project. For example, during the engineering stage of the lighting system, we were able to meet the Customer's requirement to extend all the lighting supports outside the parking and road spaces. This will contribute to the smooth operation of the CNL and the achievement of the planned operating capacity indicators when working with heavy trucks.
By understanding the high standard of Auchan's requirements, we were able to offer an environmentally friendly solution that is in full compliance with the BREEAM international energy-efficiency standard requirements. At the same time, the supports, lighting fixtures and spotlights we supplied were produced in Russia.
Auchan was able to use the infrastructure we created not only for lighting purposes: the Customer installed video surveillance systems on 18-meter lighting posts outside the complex site, using high-resolution cameras.
The project team from Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica put their best foot forward by providing high-quality services and deliveries on time and within the budget."
REFERENCE:
The Center for National Logistics (CNL) of the French company Auchan is located at the intersection of federal highways M-4 and Betonka (A-107) and the Central Ring Road under construction in the Domodedovo municipal district. The warehouse complex is a building with a total area of 109 thousand sq. m and was built on Auchan's own plot of 44 hectares, for which the required on-site infrastructure was created "from scratch". The facility was designed on the basis of the further development of the CNL territory and the construction of new warehouse buildings.
The scope of investments in the project was RUB 6 billion, which makes it one of Auchan's most significant own investments in the world.
The first stage of the specialized CNL was commissioned in November 2018. Even before the building started operation, the center was delivered with all the required IT and security systems, as well as shelving in place.
The facility is a one-story building of a unique shape, designed to store and distribute food and non-food products. The warehouse complex was built in compliance with the BREEAM international energy efficiency standard, and Auchan's corporate requirements to meet Western fire codes, AXA and NFPA.
Despite the impressive scale and the complex technical contents in the building, the construction was completed more than 1.5 months ahead of schedule and within the originally planned budget. Due to the advantageous location and custom configuration, the CNL will ensure faster delivery of goods to the consumers and will improve Auchan's operating efficiency throughout the Russian network.
